Amala Ratna Zanile Dlamini sometimes referred to DojaCat, is an American producer, singer, and rapper. Her first recognition came with her song 'So High', due to which she was able to work with RCA Records and Kemosabe at the mere age of 17. She's been nominated and has won many awards, including three Grammy Awards. Some of her most loved work includes 'Amala 'Mooo!', 'Juicy and Tia Tamera' and 'Hot Pink' 'Say So', 'Motive', '34+35 "Kiss Me More" and many more.

Ava DuVernay is a Californian born in Long Beach on 24 August 1972. DuVernay was encouraged by her aunt Denise when she was an infant. She was an evening nurse in order to give her aunt the time she needed during the day for the love of literature, art and theater. DuVernay was exposed to the movie of 1961 West Side Story by her aunt. DuVernay realized after watching her mother's example how art could serve as an instrument for activism. Her mother was also a social consciousness and taught DuVernay how to communicate via art. DuVernay resided in Compton for most of her youth, however she was able to spend summers with the extended family of her father located in Lowndes County Alabama. The father of DuVernay's remembered watching the Civil Rights movement's historic march over the Edmund Pettus Bridge, in neighboring Selma Alabama.
