Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay is a Californian born in Long Beach on 24 August 1972. DuVernay was encouraged by her aunt Denise when she was an infant. She was an evening nurse in order to give her aunt the time she needed during the day for the love of literature, art and theater. DuVernay was exposed to the movie of 1961 West Side Story by her aunt. DuVernay realized after watching her mother's example how art could serve as an instrument for activism. Her mother was also a social consciousness and taught DuVernay how to communicate via art. DuVernay resided in Compton for most of her youth, however she was able to spend summers with the extended family of her father located in Lowndes County Alabama. The father of DuVernay's remembered watching the Civil Rights movement's historic march over the Edmund Pettus Bridge, in neighboring Selma Alabama. DuVernay was influenced by her time in Selma to later direct an documentary on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In 1990 DuVernay was a graduate of Saint Joseph High School in Lakewood California. DuVernay enrolled at the University of California Los Angeles upon graduation. There she received diplomas in English and African American Studies. As in school, DuVernay was interested in creating for television journalism. DuVernay was a CBS News intern during the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay remembered being told to take a look at the junk of the home of a juror. As a result of her duties she began to feel dissatisfied by journalism, and shifted into the business of publicity. DuVernay began working in a small studio as a Junior Publicist immediately after graduation. She started The DuVernay Agency, her company for public relations in 1999. The company launched a number of promotions and lifestyle channels, including Urban Beauty Collective and Urban Eye. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. Autumn Riley has the birth actress of. She is famous for her role as Anna Payne in American Experience, (1987) A More Perfect Union and A More Perfect Union (2009). Autumn played Rose in A More Perfect Union as also Anna Payne from American Experience.
